XL

I’ve known XL for years, and he’s changed more in the last 6 months than in the last 5 years.

Always a bit of a ‘black sheep’, most of my friends have stuck by him. That’s good. But what struck us by surprise is his increasing disconnect with his parents.

Now, most Asians consider family as a fairly important entity, a bit more so than Western culture.

So XL recently said that he wanted to change his name to cut ties, in a lasting sense, with his family. Rightly so, I think he’s out of his mind.

He’s built up a lot of rage and anger recently, I think he’ll be in the dumps soon. If I get a chance to talk to him soon, I know I can’t change his mindset, but I hope I can give him a big picture perspective of what he intends to do.

See, I do have a heart.
