We had not seen each other for six months because, well, we never crossed paths during that time.<\/p>\n<p>These two friends had become a couple in that time. I&#8217;m happy for them (Who wouldn&#8217;t be?!)<\/p>\n<p>As the night progressed, a comment about &#8216;the third wheel&#8217; was mentioned. I would be mortified, until he said next, &#8220;It&#8217;s all right. We both wanted to see you!&#8221; Phew, confirmation that I wasn&#8217;t out of place. <\/p>\n<p>A few weeks later, I went out to dinner with another friend as promised some time ago. She brought her boyfriend along. Dinner went well. As I&#8217;m recalling the story some time later, someone mentioned &#8216;the third wheel&#8217; again!<\/p>\n<p>Now I&#8217;m mortified.<\/p>\n<p>Maybe it&#8217;s time to rethink about how I go about my &#8216;social&#8217;. More and more of my friends are getting into relationships! Maybe I&#8217;m stubborn in thinking that friends that are couples should be left alone. Maybe I need to change my thinking here&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>A few days ago, I did read a tacky article about what one should do when all their friends become couples.
